Joint Fieldwork Training 2014 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

In August and September, students of Anthropology and Political Science/International Relations from Freiburg, Yogyakarta and Makassar are conducting field research exercises in Yogyakarta

In the summer of 2014, ten students of from the Ethnology and Political Science programs at the University of Freiburg have conducted joint fieldwork exercises with students from the same two disciplines from Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, as well as (for the first time) Hasanuddin University, Makassar.

This year's motto is "From Tandem to Teamwork: A Training Model for Field Research Across Cultural and Disciplinary Boundaries" with a focus on "Multi-, Inter- and Transculturality in Asia and Europe". The concrete subject of the research projects for the individual teams that consist of two students each is "Region, State and Society: Cultures of Cooperation". The project is financially supported by the DAAD and the participating universities.
