COLLOQUIUM | Interdisciplinary Assessments of Area Studies (23 may 2012, 4pm - 5.30pm, Seminarraum Ethnologie)
The second Collaborative Colloquium of the semester will augment the preparation for the "Methodology in Southeast Asian Studies" conference at the end of the month.
The conference's first talk by David Szanton (University of California, Berkeley) on the methodological challenges for Southeast Asian Studies will be contextualized by his contribution to a previous edited volume, which can be analyzed regarding what it suggests for the directions of conference, and the broader academic trends in area studies.
