ASEAN Youth Organization

Dear Students of Southeast Asian Studies at Freiburg University,

We hope this letter reaches you well.

We are Andi, Michael and Simon, the founders of the German country chapter of the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO). Together, we want to build bridges between the ASEAN member states and other European countries, especially Germany. For this purpose, we will carry out a variety of projects and activities, in the political, cultural but also in the economic field.

The ASEAN Youth Organization was established as a foundation in Jakarta in 2013 and established the AYO Social Enterprise in Singapore in 2018. Today, AYO has more than 200 team members and 16 chapters and networks across the globe. The organization aims to express the voice of Southeast Asian youth and forging partnerships worldwide, but also provides knowledge, skills, and abilities for youth volunteers to bring this back to their communities.

As we are currently in the start-up phase of the German country chapter, we are looking for curious, interested and committed volunteers. Thus, if you have a connection to or an interest in the countries of ASEAN and would like to join us in shaping the common future of the region, do not hesitate to apply for our open positions!
