Organizer: the French Network for Asian Studies (GIS-Réseau Asie)

Objectives: the overall objectives of the conference are to present the latest research and current debates within the field of Asian studies, to promote transdisciplinary and transcultural exchanges, and to foster international collaborations.

Panels:
Each panel will consist of 3 to 6 speakers (topics are unrestricted).
Participation of PhD students and postdocs is highly encouraged (1) .
The following three types of panels will be considered:
1. Panels organized under a common topic, with speakers, preferably from more than one country, specialized in different areas or disciplines
2. Panels on a co-authored book or a special issue of journal dedicated to Asia, published after October 2015 or forthcoming
3. Panels on existing research projects (for instance ANR, H2020, JSPS… funded projects). Several panels can be organized for a given research project.

Languages: English and/or French.

How to submit a proposal?
Proposals must be submitted online on the conference website, first by coordinators of the panel and then by each speaker participating in the panel, by 31 October 2016 (2). Coordinators need to submit: title and summary of the panel (max. 300 words), keywords, list of speakers. Speakers need to submit: title and abstract of their presentation (max. 200 words).

Registration: conference registration is open to all (researchers, students and anyone interested in Asian studies).

Registration fees: For panel coordinators or speakers: 80 €, (30 € for students). This fee includes access to the conference, lunches and coffee breaks.
Audience: the price will be announced later.

Publication: there will be no proceedings of this conference, but the Scientific Committee will encourage the publication of special issues by inviting journal editors to the conference.

About the organizers:
The partners of the French Network for Asian Studies include the following 20 institutions: Aix-Marseille Université, CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), Collège de France, EFEO (French School of Asian Studies), EHESS (School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences), ENAPB (Paris-Belleville School of Architecture), ENS (École Normale Supérieure), EPHE (École Pratique des Hautes Études), ESSEC Business School, FMSH (Fondation Maison des Sciences de L’homme), INALCO (National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations), IRD (French Research Institute for Development), Sciences Po Paris (French National Foundation for Political Science), Sciences Po Lyon (Lyon Institute of Political Studies), Université Jean Moulin, Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, Université Paris-Diderot, Université Paris Ouest-Nanterre La Défense, Université Paris-Sorbonne, l’Université d’Angers. This year, Science Po Paris will host the conference and take a key role in its organization.

Appel à propositions d’ateliers

Organisateurs : Le GIS Asie, ou Groupement d’intérêt scientifique Études asiatiques (http://www.gis-reseau-asie.org), qui rassemble 20 organismes d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche (Aix-Marseille Université, CNRS, Collège de France, EFEO, EHESS, ENAPB, ENS, EPHE, ESSEC, FMSH, INALCO, IRD, Sciences Po Paris, Sciences Po Lyon, Université Jean Moulin, Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, Université Paris-Diderot, Université Paris Ouest - Nanterre La Défense, Université Paris-Sorbonne, l’Université d’Angers), en partenariat avec Sciences Po, qui accueillera la 6e édition du congrès.

Objectifs : Faire l'état des lieux des recherches et débats en cours dans le domaine des études asiatiques, encourager les échanges transdisciplinaires et transculturels et favoriser les collaborations internationales.

Ateliers :
Les ateliers devront comprendre entre 3 et 6 intervenants (les sujets sont libres). Une attention particulière sera accordée aux propositions des doctorants et post-doctorants (1) .
Le comité scientifique privilégiera les trois types d’ateliers suivants :
1. les ateliers associant des intervenants spécialistes de différentes aires culturelles et/ou disciplines
2. les ateliers formés autour de la présentation d’un ouvrage collectif ou d’un numéro spécial de revue consacré à l’Asie, publié depuis octobre 2015 ou à paraître
3. les ateliers qui présenteront des résultats de recherches financés au niveau national ou international (ANR, H2020, JSPS, …). Un même projet de recherche pourra donner lieu à plusieurs propositions d’ateliers.

Langues : Français et/ou anglais.

Comment répondre à l’appel ?
En ligne uniquement (2), sur le site du congrès. Les coordinateurs devront d’abord soumettre le titre, le résumé de l’atelier (300 mots maximum, en français et en anglais), les mots-clés et la liste des intervenants. Puis, chaque intervenant devra indiquer le titre et le résumé de sa communication (200 mots maximum, en français et en anglais). Ces deux étapes devront être terminées au plus tard le 31 octobre 2016.

Participants : Le congrès est ouvert à tous (chercheurs, enseignants-chercheurs, doctorants, étudiants et autres personnes intéressées par les études asiatiques) sur inscription.

Frais d’inscription :
Coordinateurs et intervenants : 80 € TTC (30 € TTC pour les étudiants).
Ce tarif inclut l’accès au congrès, les déjeuners et les pauses café.
Autres participants : le tarif sera communiqué ultérieurement.

Publication : il n’y aura pas de publication d’actes, mais le comité scientifique souhaite encourager la publication de numéros spéciaux en invitant des rédacteurs en chef de revues au congrès.
